Deck the Halls with Joy: šŸŽ„āœØ 2023 Holiday Home Decor Trends and Tips šŸŽšŸ”

The most wonderful time of the year is just around the corner, and you know what that means - it's time to deck the halls and transform your home into a winter wonderland! If you're looking to stay ahead of the curve and infuse some fresh, trendy vibes into your holiday home decor this year, you're in the right place. In this post, we'll explore the hottest holiday design trends for 2023, offer simple tips and DIY options, and even show you how to save some cash while spreading the holiday cheer. šŸŒŸšŸŽ…

Trendy 2023 Holiday Decor Trends 1. Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Decor: ā™»ļø

In 2023, sustainability has been a big topic, so if you and your family are all about it, you can opt for eco-friendly decorations! Some great examples are reusable fabric banners, LED lights, and natural materials like pinecones, twigs, and dried citrus fruits for a rustic and environmentally conscious vibe. Bring the entire family into the fun and create some unique pieces! Let your imagination soar while also keeping the environment in mind.

2. Moody Color Palettes: šŸŒŒ

Say goodbye to the traditional red and green color scheme, (or keep it! We love it all). If your thing is to be trendy and you want to change it up a bit, you must know that moody, jewel-toned colors like deep blues, emerald greens, and rich purples are stealing the spotlight this year. You can always incorporate these colors into your decor through ornaments, table settings, and even your tree decorations. Or you can have a "trendy corner" somewhere in your home (or outdoors) and try this year's top colors and palettes.

3. Vintage and Nostalgic Accents: šŸ•°ļø

Nostalgia is big for us! During the Holidays our home is filled with tradition, and we always make sure do dig out our old family heirlooms and vintage ornaments first! We have pieces from grandparents, great grandparents and we even keep our friends Holiday cards and add them to our tree every year. It always helps us create a sentimental and charming holiday atmosphere and remember our loved ones with cheer. And just like adding some trendy colors, you can always add a mix of some classic touches like antique candle holders and retro-inspired decorations. So, between the modern, the charming, and the sentimental you can create a wonderful and meaningful space filled with treasures no matter where you look.

4. Natural Elements and Textures: šŸŒæ Bringing the outdoors in is one of my favorite trends. I love the smell of pine, so although we do not have a natural tree (I love them, but I only have so much time in the day to clean) I always get fresh wreaths, cinnamon sticks and match them with wooden accents. There is no greater feeling (and scent) than walking through the door and feeling cozy. If you have extra vases, you can always buy fresh Holiday potpourri too! We have found this helpful, so we don't go through too many candles each week.

Simple Tips for Your Holiday Decor 1. Themed Decor: šŸŽ‰

Choose a specific theme for your holiday decor, whether it's winter wonderland, rustic cabin, or modern chic. This will help you focus your decorations and create a cohesive look. 2. DIY Ornaments: āœ‚ļø

Get creative and make your own ornaments. Crafting personalized ornaments with family and friends can be a fun and memorable activity. Consider using materials like clay, felt, or even recycled materials. 3. Upcycled Decor: ā™»ļø

Repurpose items you already have to save money. An old ladder can become a rustic tree display, while mason jars can be turned into beautiful candle holders.

4. Outdoor Decor: šŸ”

Don't forget to spruce up your outdoor space with lights and wreaths. A well-decorated exterior will set the mood for guests even before they enter your home.

Saving Money on Your Holiday Decor 1. Shop Off-Season: šŸ›ļø

One of the best ways to save money on holiday decor is to buy items during the off-season when they are on sale. Stock up on discounted decorations for next year. 2. DIY Decorations: āœØ

As mentioned earlier, DIY ornaments and decor can save you a bundle. You don't need to be a crafting expert; there are plenty of simple and beautiful DIY ideas online. (Below is our household's all-time favorite!!)

3. Swap with Friends: šŸ”„ Consider organizing a decor swap with friends or family. You can exchange items you no longer need and discover some unique pieces for your own holiday setup. In the past I have organized ornament exchanges with my friends, and they are so much fun!! Consider doing a quick swap (or even a fun white elephant event) and you will always remember where those ornaments came from! šŸŽ„āœØ 4. Thrift Stores and Dollar Stores: šŸ’²

Check out thrift stores and dollar stores for budget-friendly holiday decor. You might be surprised by the hidden gems you can find at a fraction of the cost. You can even find some cute stocking stuffers that the family will love and won't break the bank! šŸ’²šŸ›ļø

This holiday season, let your creativity shine while staying on-trend and within your budget. Whether you embrace the moody colors of 2023, opt for eco-friendly decor, or craft your own unique ornaments, the most important thing is to enjoy the process and create a festive atmosphere that brings joy to your home and those who visit.

Happy decorating! šŸŽ„āœØšŸŒŸ
